Wood art flourished in Kathmandu around 15th century A.D during the Malla reign. They can still be seen in the ancient palace windows and temples of Kathmandu. The artisans have been passing their wood carving skills from generation to generation. There still exist highly skilled artisans in Nepal. A perfect example can be seen in the preserved wooden pagoda built for Expo ’88, a world fair which was held in Brisbane, Australia that attracted 18 million visits.
The wooden art in those days were mostly sculptures of deities, animals, windows and doors. These days they are carved as a miniature version of original arts which are mostly used for decorative purposes. We at Expo Nepal bring you these items for decorating your home and office.
The price of the products varies depending upon the detail of art.
